Propeller Island City Lodge – A Weird Experience

Propeller Island City Lodge - Room nr 16

Perhaps the most extraordinary - Propeller Island City Lodge in Germany boasts of its 30 fabulous rooms – each with an absolutely unique design and enticing personal ambience. The magnificent piece of work generated by German artist Lars Stroschen, the rooms of the hotel offer an experience of “living in a work of art”. There is really exciting picks ranging from the Orange room with pure orange tones to the Mirror room entirely embellished with mirrors, among others with exclusive ambience.

The Symbol room is none less thrilling with each and every symbol evoking an imagination pondering over the meaning. The bed is a castle and the furniture styled as houses in the Castle room. It is very bright and quite relaxing in Clouds room with two big cloud-photos suspended on the walls.

Imagine of a room having a slanted floor, resembling a grandma’s bed that seems to fly – that is an experience in the Flying Bed. The Tempel room showcases an Asian flair combined with an aged masonry, allowing a sleep in the silver temple below the resplendent heavenly spheres.

All this is on offer at the Propeller Island City lodge in Berlin. However, out of the conventional mode the hotel has no reception that makes the “time of arrival” extremely important.

Flying Like A Hawk

An innovative way to allow humans imitate birds - Wingsuit flying is an art of flying a human body through the air using a special jumpsuit, also known as birdman suit. The wingsuits are especially designed to shape the human body into an air foil that provides the lift for flying. The wingsuit consists of parachute equipment meant to be flown from any altitude to glide through the air for skydiving or BASE jumping from exit points. The wing suit creates an airfoil shape with fabric sewn between the legs and under the arms.

To fly a wingsuit with a group of wingsuit pilots animates somewhat a flock of birds, and therefore it is called “flocking”. BASE jumpers can fly the wingsuits in close proximity to cliff walls and experience the excitement of flying like a hawk. The parachutes are deployed at a planned altitude and the arms are unziped so as to reach the control toggles of the parachute and fly to a normal skydiving or BASE jumping landing. However, this electrifying experience of Wingsuit flying is comparatively a new discipline and its full potential is still to be harnessed.
