Happiness And Solace With Robot Dogs

AIBO Entertainment Robot

The word ‘robot’ sounds lifeless, but you will not blame anymore when you see the robot dog. It is the perfect companion for the older people, trapped in isolation and grief. The lifelike robot dog helps to alleviate loneliness and serve as a great boost to the pent-up emotions for the thousands of aged women and men, who yearn for a lively support to lean on to.

A research was conducted in three U.S. Nursing homes, to find out the outcome of the robot effect on the minds. The study was conveyed in 38 nursing homes, which were visited by Banks’ pet Sparky and AIBO Entertainment Robot. All the groups gave a convincing result, which showed that those coming in contact with the robot dog, found solace and an intense attachment towards the mechanical barking friend in the first few meetings.

William Banks, the professor of Geraiatrric Medicine, said that, this spectacular invention will bring a real life support to the hundreds of aged people, who will smile more than they had ever smiled in their lives. Especially, for those who stay in the nursing homes and feel devastatingly alone can make use of the amicable companionship of the robot dogs.

New Life Form Found Deep Down Under The Sea

New Life Form Found Deep Down Under The Sea

An underwater exploration, deep down in 1990, gave way to an interesting discovery below the profound depths of the ocean. A mysterious lake at about half a mile down the bottom of Gulf of Mexico was discovered. The lake stretched to a length of 20 meters, and featured a personal sandy shore. Quite amazingly, the explorers found a prominent tide line around the lapping salty brine edge of the shore. This was quite a discovery, as an underwater tide line was mostly an absurd phenomenon to observe.

The heavily dense sandy shore comprised stacks of marine species, muscles. The animals found in this barren and desolate sea floor, survives entirely without solar power. The rich oasis of fauna comprised some new unique species like, the shrimps, bright red polychaete worms and weird spot lobsters. Interestingly, unlike most other species on earth, life on this sea bed is run through methane. The methane gas, bubbling out of the enriched sea bed, forms the chief energy source for life here. The muscle carried some special bacteria that helped in the fixing of the methane’s energy.

The rich oasis of life and the unique ecological system of the deep ocean floor were all cold seeps. Quite similar to hot vents, but the cold seeps use methane as main energy source.

Besides the muscles and the lobsters, there was also an extensive field of tube worms quite close to this underwater lake, as old as 200 years old, near the brine pool of water. These tube worms use bacteria to fix energy from hydrogen sulphides, and also extracts some directly from the floor. The gorgeous gills of these worms are used for supplying oxygen to the bacterias.

It has been observed that life survival on these cold seeps is far more dependable and stable than that of the hot vents. Though contrarily, the hot vent tube worms were considered to be the fastest growing invertebrates previously, the tube worms found near these seeps seems faster. But it has been discovered further that life can enjoy a more secured geological future in this sort of a unique ecological system.

By exploring only 1% of the vast ocean floor, we were stunned to find new life forms. It only indicates what further explorations can reveal.

Ambani’s Billion Dollar Home – A Wonder In Itself

Ambani’s Billion Dollar HomeConsidered the richest man in India, Mukesh Ambani will have a billion dollar home that will make lots of people look up at it in awe and admiration. A house of 27 stories, isn’t that kingly? If you are wondering how many people are to stay in the house, know that apart from Ambani himself, there will be his wife Neeta, their three kids and Ambani’s mother.

Now, how special do you think this wealthy man’s house should be – special enough to have a health club, a helipad and 600 servants? Well, so it is.

Spice introduces the cheapest ‘people’s phone’

Spice introduces the cheapest ‘people’s phone’

After the launch of world’s cheapest car - Tata Nano priced at £1,250, its time for the £10 “people’s phone”, developed by Indian telecom company Spice. The Spice mobile is especially targeted at the lower strata of the market. With half of the world still lacking phones, the cheapest handset is expected to receive prompt response from buyers looking for lowest rates.

The cut-rate mobile handset comes sans the not-so-important features such as the screen. As described by Spice chairman, Bhupendra Kumar Modi “It is just a phone.” He anticipates the sale of mobile would reach about 10 million by the end of next year.

The Western markets are already saturated – UK has more mobiles than the number of people living there. Introduction of Spice’s “people’s phone” clearly indicates company’s intention to step into the new generation of African, Asian, and South American consumers. These factors have largely contributed in creating a massive potential mobile market out of the developing world.

However, with the telecom industry forecasting a proliferation in the number of mobile phone users from 3 billion to at least 4 billion for the next three years, world’s major mobile brands continue their experiments to produce cheaper handsets.

Maison de Verre – An exclusive house of glass in Paris

Maison de Verre – An exclusive house of glass in Paris

Illustrating the fineness of 20th-century architecture, the Maison de Verre is a remarkable house made of glass in Paris, France. Designed by Pierre Chareau in 1932, this edifice bears a deep impact on different generations of architects, overwhelming the nature of Modernism. The house recorded a cult status – enhanced be its inaccessibility. Its first floor acted as an office for a handful of scholars and patients of a gynecologist, until it served as special guest quarters for the friends of the doctor’s family.

Built during a brief sting between the World Wars, Maison de Verre signifies obsession for hygiene and describes the concept that the house functions as a tool for psychic as well as physical healing. Viewed from within the house appears to be a glowing translucent box. Embedded in the 18th-century fabric, the great glass-block façade looks fabulous and capped with old one-story apartment.

Reflecting the relic of old Paris, enclosing a world of 19th-century boulevards and medieval squares, Maison de Verre has often been described as a sophisticated piece of furniture.
