Buenos Aires to host the first gay hotel
Reputed as the gay capital of Latin America, Buenos Aires has become the proud host of the first luxury gay hotel in Argentina. This 48-room five-star Axel Hotel is exclusively designed to appeal to the gay guests, however it is open to all. The hotel offers a fascinating roof-top swimming pool with a glass floor directly visible from the entrance lobby below.
Situated amongst cobbled streets, antique shops and steakhouses of San Telmo, the Axel Hotel provides an ambiance of colonial-era, popular with tourists. The gay holidaymakers can afford everything from tango classes to wine-tasting. Each night at the hotel may cost as much as $355 that’s worth the $7 million construction.
According to its founder Juan Julia, “Our touch has been to change gay-friendly to hetero-friendly. Everyone who comes to this hotel will obviously be welcome.”
