The word ‘robot’ sounds lifeless, but you will not blame anymore when you see the robot dog. It is the perfect companion for the older people, trapped in isolation and grief. The lifelike robot dog helps to alleviate loneliness and serve as a great boost to the pent-up emotions for the thousands of aged women and men, who yearn for a lively support to lean on to.
A research was conducted in three U.S. Nursing homes, to find out the outcome of the robot effect on the minds. The study was conveyed in 38 nursing homes, which were visited by Banks’ pet Sparky and AIBO Entertainment Robot. All the groups gave a convincing result, which showed that those coming in contact with the robot dog, found solace and an intense attachment towards the mechanical barking friend in the first few meetings.
William Banks, the professor of Geraiatrric Medicine, said that, this spectacular invention will bring a real life support to the hundreds of aged people, who will smile more than they had ever smiled in their lives. Especially, for those who stay in the nursing homes and feel devastatingly alone can make use of the amicable companionship of the robot dogs.

Cool idea, but I don’t think a robot dog could replace my dog. I guess though for those that do not have the space or time this might(given some time) be a good alternative.

While this seems rather silly, if people are going to have dogs at all, at least this way they won’t have to worry about feeding them or spending money on grooming of vet bills.
