Of the alleged brands of costly champagnes, it has taken to the record books – Perrier-Jouet champagne a 12-bottle limited edition, with each bottle priced at US$ 6,485 (Euro 4,166) sets the record for the costliest champagne ever offered. A product of the French drink firm Pernod-Ricard, the entire set of 12 is expected to be sold at an astounding price of €50,000. Exclusively targeted to make the party for elites, Pernod-Ricard confirms not more than 100 sets of this exclusive champagne would be produced.
Regarding the tang, the probable-buyers would enjoy the liberty to personalize their own champagne. However, this would require the buyer to have a man-to-man discussion with Perrier-Jouet’s cellar master Herve Deschamps at Epernay, France. After finalizing on the make-up, the ‘liqueur’ (composition of wines and sugar from different years) would be blended to tailor the bottles of 2000 Belle Epoque champagne. For more, the buyer has the option of storing their champagne for eight months in the cellars of Perrier-Jouet.
