Skyscraper Goes On A Spin At Dubai

It may sound bizarre, but Dubai, the oil-rich city is going to witness a spin on the skyscraper! Sheikh Mejren bin Sultan’s Mejren Group and Kristen Company have collaborated to create the dynamic architecture. It was announced on 11th April, 2007, that the construction will initiate within a period of six months, which is expected to complete in two years. The whole project will cost $330 million.
David Fischer, the world renowned architect designer, first conceived the idea. The edifice will rocket up to 68 stories and is going to be a combination of hotels, apartments and office towers. The floors will rotate 360 degrees, thus rendering the tower a new architectural form, at every spin.
For the first time, a tower will be capable of generating electricity, from the wind turbines placed in between the stories, which are shaped like doughnuts. However, the rotation of each doughnut will be at a very slow pace, (one rotation in 90 minutes), so as to avoid illness. The outlandish designs of the tower will incorporate other facilities, such as elevators, emergency stairs and other exclusive benefits.
For the healthy life style, good sleep is very important factor but it is possible through better bedding. There are many types of beds are available in the market in which much known one is sofa bed. For the better feel and look of the bed there is a need of best quality bedspreads. But, for better feel and best comfort, another factor is very important that is the mattress with best quality. Many doctors recommend that soft bedding is not better for health especially for the babies of less than a year; soft bedding is strictly prohibited by medical practitioners. The bunk beds information is very helpful for the mothers of new born babies.

“Rather remarkable” was the understated way my eldest daughter put it.
I had the same reaction.
The tower floors rotate, once every 90 minutes, to generate electricity?
Impressive.
Who would have thought that people would live and/or work in a wind turbine.

It is my belief that suite vollard owns the patent for this technology and David Fisher is infringing on this patent. Be careful if you get involved with Dynamic on any projects.

You almost have to wonder as to why the initial stylish design has been made stylish if the whole thing is always going to be turning. They must have to be notified about 90 minutes before a special VIP comes so that the building will be able to moved back into its original state

I would think it has motors to turn the floors at will as well. Which means they will probably use more electricity to impress people with the various shapes the building can be in than they will generate with the wind turbines. Just a guess, though.

It seems that this would only be a problem in the country in which the patent was granted. Unless, of course, the United Arab Emirates uphold foreign patents.

Wow, this should definitely give Dubai a unique skyline. This could probably help their tourist industry too because of the curiosity factor.
