Planned to be a part of a spectacular entertainment complex, Gran Scala in Zaragoza province of Spain, Spyland would be an amusement park based on the theme of spying. Built as a part of Gran Scala project, the construction of the wonder-park, Spyland has been undertaken by Amusement Park Venture. The organizers announced the project in Orlando at the Attractions Expo of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
After failing in Dubai and France, Spyland has achieved breakthrough in Spain, financed at 120 million euros (A$198 million). “This is even better” believes Didier Rancher, general coordinator for Spyland. Rancher has worked on the project for more than a decade.
Spyland is expected to be a mega family attraction, enclosing frivolous rides and amusing interactive activities surrounding history of secret agents around the world. In the spy-zone the enthusiasts will be allowed to disguise as a spy and undertake missions, pick up clues and get into fictitious borders as they move through six zones in the park, including the small water park called Aquantica. The visitors will also have the chance to test technologies used in spying. According to Rancher, the Spyland is expected to open in 2010.
