SSC Aero Waiting To Receive The Honor Of Fastest Production Car

The fastest production car in world, American-built Ultimate Aero TT recorded a speed of 255.83 mph (411.707 km/h), achieved on September 13, 2007 in West Richland, WA. The reported speed comes from an average of two runs, one in each direction, in accord to Guinness Book of World Record rules.

Once verified by the representatives of Guinness World Record, Ultimate Aero TT could receive the title of world’s fastest production car.

The supercar build by Shelby Super Cars (SSC) rivals the new Bugatti Veyron, with 0-60 mph time of just 2.78 seconds. The company as well as the vehicle is both the brainchildren of Jerod Shelby, who is said to have spent seven years designing the Aero.

One of the extreme machines on the road today Ultimate Aero hit its pinnacle with a twin turbo V-8 engine, an astounding 1,183-horsepower and 1094 ft.-lbs. of torque. Aero achieves supreme power with its lightweight, aerodynamic body and top-quality handling systems. Its raw power eclipses the performance of much more expensive vehicles. With the base Aero model priced at $239,000, and the Ultimate Aero at well over $650,500, it truly owes the title of ”world’s fastest production car”.
